Call for Student Presentations! URECA Forum: April 20

UAS URECA (Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity) Forum

April 20, 10-2

Glacier View Room

Please encourage UAS students who are engaged in research and creative activities with you to share their findings at the URECA Forum.  The URECA award recipients from last year will be presenting their work and any other students who conducted research and/or creative activity are also encouraged to do so.  This is the inaugural event of what we hope will become an annual celebration of undergraduate research and creative activity at UAS, and this year occurs in association with National Undergraduate Research Week (April 16-20), and follows the heels of the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center Symposium (April 17-19), which we also hope your students will also attend.

The format for student presentations is flexible in keeping with a wide variety of projects:

·          20-min blocks with 10-15 minutes for presentations and 5-10 minutes of Q&A or discussion.
·          Could be a conventional presentation with slides or images, maybe a video, just plain talk, poster, or feel free to stage a demonstration nearby on the Egan quad

Your students should submit their request to present to Sanjay sanjay.pyare@uas.alaska.edu and Kelly kelly.jensen@uas.alaska.edu as soon as possible so that we can plan our schedule.  Their request needs to include only title or subject matter, name, mentor, and times of availability on Fri April 20 (between 10 and 2) at this time.

Note:  We’ll be videoconferencing with Ketchikan and Sitka and encourage student and faculty participation from both of those campuses.  Room information on Ketchikan and Sitka campuses will follow.
