Geologist I with DGGS- A cool cryospheric hazards job in Fairbanks.

Dear Colleagues,

The Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) is seeking an entry level scientist (Geologist I) to assist in a multi-year project to assess cryosphere-related hazards affecting communities and infrastructure in Alaska.  The successful applicant will use knowledge of earth surface processes, hydrometeorology, remote sensing, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to make meaningful contributions to the Division’s Climate and Cryosphere Hazards Program (CCHP).  The successful applicant will work directly under the supervision of the CCHP manager in Fairbanks, Alaska.  This is a long-term nonpermanent position expected to last at least 1.5 years, with the possibility of extension pending availability of additional funding.
