Hydric soils workshop- AK Dept Natural Resources Sept 3

Jacob Berkowitz, Research Soil Scientist, from our Engineering Research
and Development Center, who has previously worked in Juneau, will be
teaching an informal one-day Hydric Soils workshop in Juneau on Friday, September 3, 2010, from 8:00-5:00.

We are opening up the training to Tribes,
non-profit watershed groups, and local, federal, and state agencies that are
interested in developing field skills identifying hydric soils.  The course will
cover basic hydric soil descriptions and demonstrate the use of hydric soil
indicators for delineation, implementing the USACE Alaska Regional
Wetland Delineation Supplement.

Materials for the class can be found in Chapter 3, Hydric Soils Section

from 8:00-10:00 and the rest of the day will be spent out in the field
