Pack Creek Ranger Student Intern

Summer work at one of the most famous bear-viewing areas in AK and the world for that matter!  I personally saw 12 bears there in one day last summer!  Mike

Here’s the Outreach for our Pathways student intern position. If you know of a young person who has been working diligently to get through college and looking for a summer gig please help us out and forward this on to them. The position is only open to students currently enrolled in school. This is considered  a competitive position and Veterans Preference applies. Those seeking a degree in Recreation or Resource Management may be considered more qualified under this job series and may rate higher.

Attached is the Outreach form. The last page needs to be submitted to this office before February 14. This is just the Outreach and not the Announcement. The Announcement will be posted on USAjobs website in their Pathways section sometime in February. It will not be listed as Pack Creek specifically but will likely show as a GS-0499-3/4/5.

The work schedule for this position will initially be for a very short period of time the first year or two, possibly only 2 months (July August), but will eventually convert to a permanent position that works for a full 6 months (April to Sept) after schooling is completed and when a degree is acquired.

Please forward on to as many people as you can. If anyone on this email list is even partially responsible for the person we eventually hire, they’ll be rewarded with a new car! Well… not exactly new, it’s an 82 Buick Skylark.

Thanks for your help. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks ~harry
