Discover Design Research- summer field camp for high school students at UAS

For those of you that know high schoolers (local or distant) that might be interested, there is still space on most modules so please pass this information along.  These are really amazing opportunities to delve into science and math in the wilds of SE AK!

Students earn one college credit and immerse themselves in one area of study for twelve days. In 2010, four of the modules offer seven-day field research experiences that showcase some of Southeast Alaska’s exceptional places and allow students to actively do field research. One module explores the mathematical universe with a full residential college campus experience.

Glacier Dynamics & Biologic Succession in Upper Glacier Bay

Cape Decision (GIS Mapping & Marine Mammals) on Kuiu Island

Exploring the Mathematical Universe based at UAS

Climate Change in the Takshanuk Watershed, Haines

Landscape Ecology on the Move in Lower Glacier Bay
